There was a big argument in the Nigerian Senate on Thursday when Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan refused to change her seat, even after being told to move.
The issue started when the seating arrangement was changed because some opposition senators switched sides. But Natasha did not want to move to a new seat.
The Senate Chief Whip, Senator Tahir Monguno, explained that the Senate President had the right to move seats and that refusing to follow the rule could lead to punishment.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio supported this decision and refused to let Natasha speak from her old seat. This made her upset.
“I don’t care if I am silenced. I am not afraid of you,” she said loudly, showing that she would not back down.
Things got tense when the Senate President asked security to remove her. But some senators stepped in to calm the situation, and Natasha still did not move from her seat.
