Delta State government has reiterated its commitment to its M.O.R.E agenda to enhance peace and security across the state having earned the award of the most peaceful state in the country.
The Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Olorogun Vincent Oyibode made this disclosure today in an interview with journalists in his office in Asaba.
Oyibode urged Deltans to contribute their quota to the already existing peace in the state, stating that the ministry would work with all security agencies to ensure the safety and security of all Deltans.
“With the cooperation of security agencies in the state coupled with the effort of the governor, who is security friendly, investors can now come and do business without interference in the state” he added.
He charged oil and gas-producing communities and companies operating within the state to embrace peace, and unity, shun greed, and avoid crisis to enhance peace in their communities.
He added that “before now our Warri comedians has been in the forefront of championing the course that Warri, Delta is not safe via their jokes which led to most of the oil companies leaving the state to another state but today the story has changed.
Oyibode called on our comedians to also use this medium to rebrand the state, adding that Delta is peaceful and safe for investors to come.
He said the ministry’s vision is how to generate 24-hour electricity within the state with its natural resources.
The Commissioner urged the companies to comply with their corporate social responsibility, as the ministry would come up with a Free-to-operate (FTO) system for all companies operating in the state.
