At the Indigenous Correspondents’ Chapel (ICC) monthly Congress in Asaba on August 22, 2024, Mrs. Rose Ezewu, the Delta State Commissioner for Secondary Education, urged for stronger cooperation between her office and media organizations. Her speech highlighted the need for improved media coverage of the administration’s initiatives, particularly the MORE Agenda, to ensure transparency and public awareness.
Represented by her media aide, Mr. Jude Bruno, Mrs. Ezewu emphasized the vital role of media in monitoring ongoing projects and facilitating informed public discourse. Mr. Bruno, who attended the Congress in Mrs. Ezewu’s place due to her duties during the visit of the President’s wife, Mrs. Remi Tinubu, conveyed the Commissioner’s deep appreciation for media contributions and her commitment to fostering open communication.
Mr. Bruno also stressed the importance of constructive criticism and balanced reporting to prevent unnecessary tensions and support accurate information dissemination. He reiterated Mrs. Ezewu’s dedication to maintaining a respectful and collaborative relationship with journalists.
Beyond her official duties, Mrs. Ezewu is recognized for her dedication to education and community welfare. She supports over 25 students in secondary and higher institutions and is funding the education of children from a deceased teacher’s family. Her leadership reflects a commitment to both educational advancement and compassionate community service.
