Delta Govt Profiles Entrepreneurs, Set To Promote Local Contents

Delta State Governor, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, through the office of the Special Adviser on Trade and Export, has started profiling entrepreneurs for meaningful development towards the M.O.R.E Agenda in the state.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade and Export, Chief Shimite Bello, joined by her colleague, the commissioner for Youth, Comrade Agbateyimiro Isaac Weyinmi made this known while briefing Journalists in Asaba on Thursday.

She said the essence of profiling is to teach, prepare, and equip entrepreneurs to be more competitive in the state by offering them more opportunities on how to run their business successfully in terms of branding, choice of packaging, and export.

Shimite Bello said the office of the Special Adviser on Trade and Export was specially created in 2023 by His Excellency, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori to better prepare entrepreneurs towards meaningful development in the M.O.R.E Agenda and to ensure all roads lead to Delta State for business.

According to her, the profiling has started since October and her office only centered on real products and services such as food, beverages and technology. Palm oil, cake, bread, wine, art, craft, photography, fashion, beauty, shoes, body cream, massage oil,  bead making, skits catoon, and apps making are some of the things she mentioned.

She added that an ultra modern market has already been built in Oko, Oshimili South Local Government Area to further enhance the meaningful development of the M.O.R.E Agenda.

Shimite Bello put in that her office is saddled with the responsibility to prepare entrepreneurs on how to access capital to run their businesses, and also to assist them to get licenses from NAFDAC, SON, Quarantine Service, Nigeria Export Promotion Council and other commission that centered on food and beverages.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade and Export summed up that her office also works with trade and investment so entrepreneurs can easily get their patent trademarks.

She urged entrepreneurs who have not been profiled to take advantage of the opportunity and make an effort to come for profiling before December 15, 2023. According to her, the government wants to encourage entrepreneurs by creating an enabling environment for local content to reach out to the major markets globally.
