Asaba, June 10, 2025 — The Delta State House of Assembly, during its plenary session on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, dismissed a petition accusing the Commissioner for Health of unlawfully transferring Mr. Daniel Ebo from the Hospitals Management Board in Asaba to the Mother and Child Specialist Hospital in Owa-Alero.
The decision came after the Chairman of the House Committee on Public Petitions, Hon. Matthew Omonade, presented the findings of an investigative hearing into the matter. The plenary was presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor.

Hon. Omonade reported that after reviewing all the evidence provided by Mr. Ebo (the petitioner) and hearing from both the first and second respondents, the committee concluded that the petition had no merit. He stated that the petitioner failed to prove his claims or show that due process was violated in the transfer.
“The petition was carefully investigated. After going through all documents and hearing from both sides, we found that the claims were not only weak but baseless,” Hon. Omonade said while presenting the report.
He further explained that the Commissioner for Health acted within the rules and that staff redeployment within the health sector is part of regular administrative duties — not a violation of any law.
Supporting the committee’s report, lawmakers such as Hon. Charles Emetulu and Hon. James Augoye praised the committee for its thorough work. They agreed that Mr. Ebo’s petition went against established procedures and did not provide enough evidence to support his accusations.
The House unanimously agreed with the committee’s recommendation to dismiss the petition. The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, directed the Clerk of the House to officially communicate the House’s resolution to all concerned parties.
With that, the matter was closed, and the House adjourned plenary to Wednesday, June 11, 2025.
