Asaba, Delta State – The Delta State House of Assembly concluded its legislative activities for the year 2024 on Tuesday, December 18, with a final plenary session marked by gratitude and reflections on a successful year.
The Honourable Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor expressed deep appreciation to all who contributed to the Assembly’s achievements in 2024. Speaking at the close of plenary, Hon. Guwor lauded the unwavering support and dedication of the Honourable Members, the management team, and the entire Assembly staff.
In his remarks, Guwor extended particular commendations to the press corps for ensuring extensive visibility of the Assembly’s activities throughout the year. He also used the opportunity to convey festive greetings and hopes for continued collaboration in the coming year.
“As we come to the end of our legislative session for 2024, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone whose tireless efforts and dedication to our collective mission made it a success,” the Speaker stated.
Reflecting on the legislative accomplishments of the House, Guwor said, “Together as legislators, we passed legislation that benefits our citizens and promotes the development of our state. We remain committed to addressing the concerns of our constituents, promoting their welfare, and ensuring that Delta State continues to be a place of opportunity and prosperity for all.”
The Speaker also urged Deltans and Nigerians to remain hopeful, assuring that the state government, led by Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori is resolute in implementing its MORE Agenda for sustainable growth and development.
“As we celebrate the Christmas season and look forward to the New Year, I urge you all to take time to rest, recharge, and reflect on the true spirit of the season. Let us remember the values of love, kindness, and compassion that bring us together as a people,” Guwor encouraged.
The Speaker concluded with a message of unity and hope: “May the joy, peace, and blessings of the Christmas season be with all of us and our loved ones, and may the New Year bring us greater prosperity, happiness, and fulfillment.”
