CDCFIB Suspends Job Application Portal to Fix Errors, Reopening July 21

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced the temporary suspension of its online recruitment portal after several users complained about technical problems.

The portal — https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng — was launched just two days ago on Sunday, July 14, to allow young Nigerians to apply for jobs in four major paramilitary agencies:

  1. Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)
  2. Nigeria Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)
  3. Nigeria Fire Service (NFS)
  4. Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS)

Why Was the Portal Suspended?

In a public statement released on Wednesday, July 16, A.M. Jubril, Secretary to the CDCFIB, said the suspension is meant to fix technical issues and make the portal work better for everyone.

According to him:

“This development will ensure that the portal accommodates the high volume of applications while guaranteeing a smooth, transparent, and fair recruitment process.”

The portal is expected to be back online on Monday, July 21.

What Went Wrong?

Since the portal opened, many applicants have complained about not being able to log in or complete their application.

Some of the problems reported include:

  • Pages not loading properly
  • Error messages like “Error 405” after entering NIN and phone numbers
  • Being kicked back to the home page repeatedly
  • Difficulty submitting the form even after several attempts

A frustrated applicant shared on X (formerly Twitter):

“After inputting my NIN and phone numbers, this Error 405 keeps occurring and keeps taking me back to the home page. I’ve had to start over since 3:30 am. What could be the problem?”

This is the third announcement made by CDCFIB since the portal opened. Earlier, they explained that new updates were being added to the site to help users navigate better, avoid errors, and complete their applications smoothly.

The Board also thanked Nigerian youths for their interest in serving the country, adding that they are committed to a fair and transparent recruitment process.
