Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, has said he is not in competition with any artist in the music industry.
He said this when he featured on ‘The Zane Lowe Show’, which was aired on Apple Music 1.
The 30-year-old music star also said he would not hesitate to “crush” anyone who wants to get a into rivalry with him.
According to his explanations, he said: “There’s no competition in music because if there was, then there wouldn’t be competition for me, because it’s not how I see it.”
”I just do it. I just move, man. Do you know how gorillas move? Do you get me? Everything in front of them gets crushed. Do you get me? That’s how it is. It’s not even a competition thing. Do you get me? Just don’t stand in front of me.”
He further revealed that it’s always a thing of happiness to him whenever he sees fans gyrate to his music.
He said “I see it, and sometimes it brings tears to my eyes. I see it. When I don’t see it, I feel it. Do you understand? It’s something that is my biggest excitement in the whole thing. That’s really what excites me the most about this whole journey.”
“There’s been too many, man. I don’t know where to start. All the shows, all the festivals, all the awards.
“I don’t know. I don’t know which one of them feels best. Hopefully, it keeps getting better. This year I kind of made up for a lot of things I couldn’t do last year. I’m thankful for that.”
Recently, Burna Boy joined together with Wizkid for a new song titled ‘Ballon d’Or. The new single follows their collaboration on ‘Ginger’, a track off ‘Made in Lagos’, Wizkid’s 2020 hit album.
