Burna Boy bombasts, says he’s Africa’s highest-paid artiste

Grammy Award winner, Burna Boy bragged about being the highest-paid artist in the history of African music.

Burna Boy said this in a series of posts he shared on Twitter on Saturday after evaluating his career paces and love for music.

He said he already achieved all the dreams he had, adding that his wish now is to live and die on stage.

The music star also added that nothing – including money – can give him satisfaction anymore except being on stage with his band, The Outsiders.

According to his post, he stated “At this point, I just want to live and die on stage with my band, The Outsiders. I’ve achieved all the dreams I ever personally had. Money gives me no satisfaction, nothing does, except being on stage with my God sent band.”

The award-winning singer also lamented dealing with industry politics. He said he wished people can simply enjoy his music and watch him perform on stage without resorting to politics.

“I thank God and the world for giving me this. I just wish the world would leave me out of all politics and just let/watch me perform till I die. The only time my heart feels genuine peace is on stage and that’s where I want to live and die,” he added.

“I said money doesn’t satisfy me and it’s my truth but it doesn’t change the fact that I’m the highest-paid artist in the history of African music. Believe it or not.”

This is coming days after he pulled out of the 2022 AfroNation festival that he is scheduled to perform.

The AfroNation Puerto Rico is the world’s biggest Afrobeats festival.

He announced his withdrawal on his Instagram page on Thursday, stating that he would not make it to the event due to circumstances beyond his control.

Announcing, he said “I’m extremely gutted that I won’t be at the AfroNation in Puerto Rico, due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control,” he wrote.

“I will make it up to you all for sure! Love, Damini.”

The AfroNation Festival is returning after a two-year hiatus in 202o due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

For this year, the festival will hold in two different countries — Puerto Rico and America.

It is scheduled to take place between March 24 and 26 in Balneario de Carolina, Puerto Rico, while the latter part is expected to hold between July 1 and 3 in Praia da Rocha beach, America.

The festival will also have performances from several Nigerian music heavyweights like Wizkid, Yemi, Wande Coal, Patoranking.

Burna Boy started to gain fame after releasing ‘Like to Party’, the lead single from his debut album ‘L.I.F.E’ (2013).

In 2021, the singer set a record in Nigeria after his album ‘Twice As Tall’ won the ‘Best World Music Album’ category at the Grammys.
