The first-ever made in Nigeria mobile phone was presented to President Muhammadu Buhari by the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo, in the State House, Abuja.
This was made known on facebook by the Personal Assistant to the President on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, on Wednesday.
According to the post on facebook, Bashir Ahmed stated that “President Buhari receives a ‘Made in Nigeria’ android phone from the Minister of Trade and Investment earlier this morning shortly before the commencement of this week’s Federal Executive Council Meeting at the State House, Abuja.
“Are you ready to start using Made in Nigeria phones?”
Also while presenting the phone, Adebayo stated that an agency Model Skills Training Center of the Industrial Training Fund under the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment launched twelve indigenous mobile phones and it gives me great pleasure Mr. President to present you with one of them.
The mobile phone known as ITF Mobile was one of the 12 phones produced by the Electrical/Electronics Technology Department of the Industrial Training Funds (ITF) Model Skills Training Center using locally sourced components.
