President Muhammadu Buhari holds a security meeting with the service chiefs today, Tuesday, May 4, as a continuation of last Friday’s meeting that was adjourned.
According to the last meeting, the National security adviser, Babagana Munguno disclosed in a statement issued on Friday that President Muhammadu Buhari was determined to stem the insecurity in the country.
He said that President Buhari “made it abundantly clear that while the insurgents, bandits and criminals are still at it, he has no doubt that the Nigerian Security agencies and all of us as a nation will certainly overcome all the current security problems and defeat the forces of evil marauding about in different parts of the country.”
The meeting has in attendance, the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Gambari; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha; Minister of Defence, Major-General Bashir Magashi (Rtd), and the National Security Adviser, Major-General Babagana Monguno (Rtd).
Others present is the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Lucky Irabor; Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Ibrahim Attahiru; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice-Admiral Awwal Zubairu; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Amoo, and the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, at the First Lady Conference Hall in Aso Rock.
