The Lagos State House of Assembly has passed the Value Added Tax Bill along with the bill that prohibits open cattle grazing in the state.
The Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, on Thursday, directed the acting Clerk of the House, Mr. Olalekan Onafeko, to convey a clean copy to the governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for approval.
The two bills were enacted after collective votes by the lawmakers at the sitting where the bills were read the third time.
After the passing of the bill, the Speaker immediately commended his colleagues for their passion to see that the state continues to grow.
Obasi said, “I thank you all for this historic exercise.”
Recall on Wednesday, the house had held a separate public hearing on the bills, with stakeholders indicating authorization.
