Breaking: INEC declares Oborevwore winner of Delta governorship election

The Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwore, the governorship candidate for the People Democratic Party in Delta State, winner of Saturday’s governorship election.

Prof. Georgewill Owuneri Abraham, the State Returning Officer, announced the result at the commission headquarters in Asaba, the state capital on Monday.

The Returning Officer while announcing the result said “The PDP candidate, having met the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and returned as governor-elect.

According to the result, Oborevwore scored 360, 234 votes to defeat Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the APC governorship candidate who polled 240, 229.

Ken Pela, the candidate for the Labour Party came third with 48,047 total votes.

The total number of Registered Voters is 3, 221, 697, while Accredited voters are 710, 829.

The total number of votes cast is 687121, valid votes are 611737, and Rejected votes are 15384.
