The Archbishop of Bethesda Gospel Mission, Irri, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, Archbishop Christian Aggrey O. Apena has marked his 91 birthday.
The ceremony which was held at the Bethesda Gospel Mission Cathedral Irri was described as an honour given to the Archbishop by those in attendance.
Speaking at the event, Bishop Dr. Prince Edugbo, presiding Bishop of House of Gladtidings Mission, Asaba who was a guest speaker said the celebrant, Archbishop Apena is an ocean of divine virtues, power, and knowledge.
The preacher who spoke on the topic ” We’re here to draw” and taking his bible reading from Genesis 27:26-27 said Archbishop Apena is a preacher and priest of Jesus Christ for over seven decades adding that he is a father to politicians, traditional rulers, academicians, religious leaders both in Nigeria and many other nations of the world.
Edugbo noted that the birthday celebration was a divine invitation for a step up urging the people to partake in his grace by making the heart of the patriarch of the faithful rejoice.
Meanwhile, the celebrant, Archbishop Christian Aggrey O. Apena in his speech said the secret to longevity is loving God and your neighbor as yourself.
The nonagenarian preacher cautioned the political class against injustice, corruption, and perverting the will of the people during elections.
He also called on Nigerians to shun intertribal and interreligious crises in the country.
The ceremony was witnessed by dignitaries from all works of life and very prominent preachers from the Isoko nation among are Archbishop (Barr) Ginbright Adaigho, Archbishop Dr. V. E Arikoro, Primate Moses Ogbodogbo, Chief Apostle Thompson Oki, Bishop John Aruakpor, Bishop Sam Oyede, Bishop Dr. Oroh Itehiri, Rev. Dr. (Mrs) Ovuomo, Renaissance College of Bishops and others.
