Ibusa, Delta State – July 3, 2025 – It was a big day for politics in Oshimili North as leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) gathered in large numbers at Ibusa, a peaceful community in Delta State. The meeting was hosted by Senator Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi at his country home and focused on bringing unity to the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The crowd included top APC chieftains, elders, youth leaders, women, party members, and supporters from all the political wards in Oshimili North Local Government Area. Everyone came together with one mission: to reconcile differences and strengthen the APC family.
During the meeting, Senator Nwaoboshi gave a powerful speech. He asked everyone in the APC to put the party first, make sacrifices, and support whoever the party chooses to contest in the 2027 elections.
“Reconciliation is about sacrifice,” Nwaoboshi said. “Everybody must give up something for peace to happen. There’s no peace without compromise, cooperation, and partnership.”
He made it clear that he hasn’t decided yet if he will run for any political position in 2027. Instead, he urged party members to focus on supporting whoever the APC puts forward, saying that the most important thing is to win together as one united party.
“Nothing is too much to sacrifice for the success of the party,” he said. “What matters is victory. We must all come together, put our differences aside, and support our candidates.”
The event ended with a big vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. APC members praised Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the governor’s M.O.R.E. Agenda, saying both have brought progress and hope to the people.

Apology and Loyalty
The most emotional moment came when Hon. Chief Innocent Esewezie (Chairman, Oshimili North LGA) publicly apologized to Senator Nwaoboshi. He said everything he has achieved politically was thanks to Nwaoboshi and promised to fully respect and follow him from now on.
“I was not even up to 30 years old when my late father handed me over to Senator Nwaoboshi,” he shared. “I will remain loyal to him as my political father.”
Esewezie also moved a motion to officially endorse President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori for re-election in 2027, and also named Sir Monday Onyeme as the political leader of Delta North APC. The motion was seconded by Hon. Frank Esenwa and supported by all in attendance.
“We Are Now One” – Hon. Iwegbu Ikechukwu
Hon. Iwegbu Joseph Ikechukwu, the Onwo of Akuko-Igbo and Executive Assistant to the Governor on Community Development, described the meeting as one of the best things to happen in Oshimili North.
“We have unified. Our leader, Senator Nwaoboshi, said we have no problem because we have unified and we are one. We will continue to be one,” he said.
He also praised the vote of confidence passed on the President and Governor:
“The vote of confidence is necessary because we’ve been dealing with the best—the President and the Governor. We are confirming the best.”

The meeting ended with a strong voice vote showing that everyone agreed. APC Oshimili North members pledged full support for President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori. They also declared Senator Nwaoboshi as their supreme leader, sending a bold message that Oshimili North is solidly united and ready for the 2027 elections.
“Let us unite behind the President and our Governor so that their plans can reach every corner of the state,” said APC Chairman Hon. Austin Nnabuife.
