APC gains victory in Delta Central and South Senatorial District

The candidates of the All Progressives Congress representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, and Joel Thomas, representing Delta South Senatorial District have emerged winners of the National Assembly of Saturday’s poll.

Prof. Ezekiel Agbalagba, the Returning Officer for Delta Central declared Dafinone the winner at the Collation Center of INEC in Ughelli, while Prof. Peretimina Anthony, the Returning Officer for Delta South declared Joel Thomas as the winner at the Otobo Hall in Delta South Collation Center in Oleh, headquarters of Isoko South LGA.

According to the results from Delta Central, the APC candidate, Dafinone polled 109,197 votes to win against Ighoyota Amori, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party who scored 101,385 votes.

While Peter Omaruaye, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance scored 17,523, the candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party scored 4,721 votes.

Other political parties votes in Delta Central are APM – 1,195; NRM – 728; ADP – 1,341; A – 513; ADC – 3,517; YPP – 967; ZLP – 2,193; AA – 336; SDP – 3,568.

Also in Delta South, it was announced that Thomas triumphed over Mr. Michael Diden of the PDP and Commodore Omatseye Nesiama (retd), candidate of the NNPP to become the winner of Delta South Senatorial District.

The APC candidate in Delta South, Thomas polled a total of 49,955 votes while Diden of the PDP scored 47,656 votes on Saturday poll.
