The All Progressive Congress has barred all political appointees from voting in its national convention slated on Sunday, March 26.
This was made known in a statement by the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC).
According to the CECPC, all political appointees who were elected as delegates to the National Convention scheduled for Sunday, March 26, 2022, shall not vote given the controversy surrounding Section 84 (12) of the Electoral Act 2022.
The CECPC added that the appointees can attend the conventionon as observers, adding that this was in line with the amended electoral act which barred political appointees from contesting for an electoral office unless they resign.
