Aniocha South Vigilante Team Visits Odogwu of Ubulu-Uno for Security Talks

It was a colorful and meaningful gathering as members of the Aniocha South Vigilante Community paid a surprise visit to Chief Amb. Mayor Enujeko, the Odogwu of Ubulu-Uno Kingdom, at his country home.

The visit was filled with unity, shared purpose, and hope for a safer Aniocha South. Chief Enujeko, who is also the former President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria and currently serves as the Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Youth Mobilization, warmly welcomed the vigilante members and praised their efforts in protecting the community.

Speaking to journalists after the visit, Chief Enujeko described the vigilante team as a youth-focused community security group, reminding everyone that security is not just the job of the police or army alone — it’s everyone’s responsibility.

“You are not just a vigilante team; you are youth working for peace. I see you, I appreciate you, and I want to encourage you to stay committed to this noble duty,” Chief Enujeko said.

He urged the group to remain disciplined, honest, and law-abiding, and warned against corruption or abuse of power in their role. “People trust you to protect them — don’t misuse that trust,” he added.

Chief Enujeko also promised continued support for community-based security projects and praised Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for supporting the Vigilante through the Delta Community Corps Initiative. He said this shows the governor truly values grassroots security and community protection.

In addition, the Odogwu gave a special thanks to the Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwuweike, for opening up the power line route — a move that has improved security patrols across quiet and vulnerable areas in the community.

“This is how security should work — with support from government, local leaders, and everyday citizens. When we all come together, our communities become safer,” Chief Enujeko said.

The meeting ended with both sides sharing ideas and strategies to keep Aniocha South peaceful and well-guarded.
