“I’ve been in the homes of a lot of big men—like governors—and I see the wives of people I know doing things. I greet them politely, but I know what’s going on. Sometimes, the big men touch the women in a way that shows they’re having an affair, and then tell them to go back inside. Later, I meet the same woman at an event, and her husband introduces her to me like I’ve never met her before.”
He also said that the woman once called him later to thank him for not exposing her secret, and he told her, “It’s okay.”
