The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a public warning over the circulation of fake online links claiming to be the party’s official membership registration platform, cautioning Nigerians against falling victim to fraudsters.
In a statement released on Sunday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, urged members of the public to disregard all online registration links currently circulating on social media and messaging platforms, stressing that none of them is authorised by the party.
Abdullahi explained that the ADC has not launched any online membership registration website or link at this time, adding that the party is still developing its official registration and verification platform.
According to him, the ADC will formally announce the launch of its authentic membership registration portal through its verified communication channels when it becomes operational. He emphasised that the party does not solicit payments or sensitive personal information through unofficial websites, WhatsApp messages, direct messages, or third-party platforms.
The ADC spokesperson further warned Nigerians to be vigilant and take personal responsibility in avoiding online scams linked to political parties. He advised the public not to click on suspicious or unverified links and not to forward unconfirmed registration messages to others.
Abdullahi also cautioned against submitting personal details such as names, phone numbers, Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) information, Bank Verification Numbers (BVN), or payment details on any platform that has not been officially verified by the party.
He added that anyone who encounters suspicious registration links should report them to the ADC through its official communication channels, noting that all legitimate announcements, including the launch of the official registration platform, will only be made through verified ADC platforms and formal statements from the party’s leadership.
The party noted that this is the second warning it has issued within a year regarding unauthorised registration activities. In July 2025, the ADC similarly disowned a fake list of state chairmen and cautioned Nigerians against fraudulent online registration platforms designed to deceive and defraud unsuspecting citizens.
