A former governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, has publicly criticized his successor, Governor Godwin Obaseki, and his wife, Betsy Obaseki, for being childless. The Edo North Senator made these remarks in a video shared by Television Continental (TVC) on its X handle on Sunday.
Oshiomhole’s comments were in response to a statement allegedly made by Betsy Obaseki, in which she reportedly claimed that Monday Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Edo State, does not have a wife. In the video, Oshiomhole expressed shock at the First Lady’s remarks, pointing out that the governor and his wife have not adopted any children despite their inability to conceive.
He questioned their commitment to family values, suggesting that their decision not to adopt indicates a lack of love for children. Oshiomhole’s response has sparked discussions about the personal lives of public figures and the boundaries of political discourse.
