A Tale of Two Governors: A Wake-Up Call for Delta State

By Voice of the Truthsayer

During a recent trip from Onitsha to Awka, I boarded one of the new Mass Transit buses introduced by Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State. To my delight, the bus was factory-fitted with air-conditioning, clean, affordable, and comfortable — a fine example of people-focused governance.

Upon arrival in Awka, I visited the newly built Anambra State Government House. Its modern design, orderliness, and strategic planning reflect a governor with vision and commitment. It’s more than a building — it’s a statement of responsible leadership.

As I stood there, I thought about my own state, Delta — a state rich in oil, blessed with generous federal allocations and internal revenues. Yet, the contrast is stark. Delta Line buses are outdated, amenities are lacking, and modern infrastructure is scarce. Citizens see little value for the wealth the state receives.

This is not a political jab but a call for accountability. If Anambra, with fewer resources, can achieve so much, why can’t Delta? Leadership should not be about empty rhetoric but visible results. The people of Delta deserve better.

Governor Oborevwori, the time to rise is now. Deltans are no longer satisfied with mediocrity. The standard has been raised. We demand transparency, efficiency, and results — not propaganda. If Anambra can do more with less, Delta has no excuse.

This is both a commendation of purposeful leadership and a challenge to those entrusted with our future. History will remember who stood up — and who stayed silent.
