An 18-year-old girl named Rukayat Ashiru has been taken to court for allegedly drugging her boyfriend, Waris Olamilekan, and stealing N4 million from his bank account.
The incident happened on November 30, 2024, in Ibadan, Oyo State. According to the police, Rukayat and some others (who have not been caught) put a substance in Waris’ drink, making him unconscious. While he was unconscious, they took N4 million from his account.
Rukayat was taken to Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court on February 28, 2025, where she was charged with conspiracy and stealing. She said she was not guilty.
The judge, Olabisi Ogunkanmi, allowed her to go on bail for N2 million but said she must bring two people to vouch for her—one must own property near the court, and the other must be a family member.
The next court hearing will be on May 26, 2025.
